Quarantine - Day 1 - Prep and acceptance.

So like a lot of people I thought I'd blog about this time in quarantine.

Yesterday as the Governor made his announcement I thought "Well it won't be so bad.  I'll be able to work from home...this will be ok."

Later in the day it became clear...my company is just not setup to allow us to work from home and that I have to use all my time and then...*shoulder shurg*?

Of course I'll try for unemployment which should keep the car payment up and some of the bills and let us eat...if it prolongs then I'll look at retail gigs or something...but with an immuno-compromised spouse I also want to take this seriously and minimize my exposure out there to protect her.  It's truly a no-win scenario.  Luckily we live pretty 'meager' anyway...and without driving 100 miles a day and eating out etc...I think we'll be ok.  My next check should take us pretty far.

I woke up this morning and had to swap things around.  Wendy and I started sharing the office  about a month or so ago.  I did this for two reasons.  1: The woman literally sat on MY wonderful desktop for hours at a time gaming and frankly I wanted to use my good computer...but really it was more 2: with only one computer in here we found ourselves sitting on separate floors or in different rooms and it's nicer doing things together.  Now this is where we hang out.  However on Monday she is going to start teaching remotely so I needed to put her closer to her keyboard so I swapped us.  She's now closer to the window and her keyboard and ready to go and I'm near the door. That works.

We then ventured out to the store...I got what we needed while Wendy showered at the studio (we have an issue with our hot water)...I pick her up and then we come  home.

At 7:15 after our first nap of the day...we get on a conference call with our friends.  At one point there were 19 old school Oswego Alumni on a Zoom conference call.  At one point our old choir instructor joins us.  It was epic.  Four hours later we end and plan to do it next week.

Wendy and I are happy...I am more than a little inebriated and we're just hanging out enjoying the rest of our evening...

Love you all and update more tomorrow.
